The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) Office of Environmental Management in Grand Junction, Colorado, manages the Moab Uranium Mill Tailings Remedial Action (UMTRA) Project near Moab, Utah.  SKA supports the DOE through a Technical Assistance Contract that provides technical and administrative services. Our work, in partnership with S&K Technologies and Pro2Serve, is working to provide the safe removal and disposal of residual radioactive materials to a Nuclear Regulatory Commission – approved disposal cell. 

SKA has the responsibility for total performance under the contract, including determining specific methods for accomplishing the work. Duties include:

• Public affairs/community relations
• Property management
• Quality assurance
• Environment, safety and health support
