Information Assurance (IA) Support Specialist I - Bremerton WA
Description: The IA Support Specialist shall monitor, coordinate, and conduct System Security evaluations, audits, and reviews for Navy Region Northwest non-NMCI networks.
Qualifications: AA, or Certification in IT discipline; and at least 2 years specialized experience in providing Information Assurance support at the Enterprise level. Experience will include Access control; awareness and training; audit and accountability; certification, accreditation, and security assessments; configuration management; contingency planning; identification and authentication; incident response; media protection; physical and environmental protection; personnel security; risk assessment; systems and service acquisition; system and communications protection; and system and information integrity; conducting DOD Information Assurance Certification and Accreditation Program (DIACAP), Common Criteria, and the DOD Information Technology Security Certification and Accreditation (DITSCAP) 8500.2 processes and controls; conducting and/or overseeing Risk and Vulnerability Assessments for IT Systems; providing Incident and Violation Management ensuring that security violations/incidents are properly reported; developing, modifying, and maintaining IA related security documentation. Knowledge and experience with Federal Information Security Management Act (FISMA), E-Government Act, Freedom of Information Act (FOIA), Privacy Act, and other Federal requirements, as well as all National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) publications related to certification and accreditation (C&A), specifically: System Security Plans, Contingency Plans, Configuration Management Plans, Privacy Impact Assessments, and other security documents. Knowledge of Automated Information System Security policy and guidance as mandated by Congress in Public Law (PL 100-235) Computer Security Act, and Office of Management and Budget in OMB Circular A-130, Department of Commerce Federal Information Processing Publications (FIPS PUBS), National Security Agency standards, and Chief Naval Operations (CNO). A technical knowledge of network and router protocols, firewalls, Bastion Hosts, Virtual Private Networks (VPNs), NIPRNET, SIPRNET, and modern computer operating systems. One or more GIAC certifications, CISSP or other relevant certifications are desired. Must have a valid WA state driver’s license. Senior Systems Administrator
Qualifications: The Senior Systems Administrator provides Application Support, Database Management, Management of Access and Account Administration and Maintenance for Navy, CNIC, Region, and Parachute Applications. Perform application programming and coding to ensure applications are up-to-date and comply with higher level evolving regulations. Develop and maintenance of administrative, structural, procedural, and user documentation for applications supported by the Region. Administer, maintain, and evaluate applications to determine who is using, where the data resides, is it a candidate for applying to another type of platform, to ensure customer requirements continue to be met and are compliant with ever changing higher authority policy, standards, and regulations. Perform daily data backups, periodic monitoring of server performance, and troubleshooting. Provide technical support to customers in the design and development of databases, data captures, complex data queries, problem resolution, and data mining and interpretation. Create, back up, restore, and modify database tables, views, and stored procedures. Create Structured Query Language (SQL) Server Integration Services (SSIS) for data transformation and conversion, install software upgrades and security patches, create and maintain user access accounts, data conversion between systems and applications. Download and install patches and updates. Help guarantee customer’s ability to be able to access their data in a prompt and secure manner. Ensure the smooth interaction of software applications and databases. Apply various query languages (including SQL), table relationships and views, and data administration and standardization policies and standards; generating complex queries and reports; and maintaining data management systems. Provide performance tuning, backup, and recovery of databases. Apply IT security principles, methods, and practices. Extensive knowledge of database management concepts, principles, and methods including database logical and physical design, normalization, storage capacity management, backup, and recovery. Education: 5 years of specialized job related experience required.
Certification/Training: Must have one or more of the following certifications: MCDBA, MCSE, MySql's CMA, CMDEV and CMDBA.
